A busy weekend….
Friday night and I was in a the middle of a solo frenzy of gardening. The weeds are gone. The gravel is refreshed. The garden now has two levels to it so I no longer have to lean over the table and chairs to hang the washing out. All in all, it was very productive.
Saturday day and evening was spent with friends. We were made to feel welcome and had a lovely time. It was a mix of silly games; plot frothing, drinking and good company. And it has to be said; the female half of the couple is top top totty. A brief visit to a birthday BBQ (which I felt guilty for crashing, but was instantly made to feel welcome) did make me feel very old – but no one else seemed to notice that I had half a decade on most of the people there! Navajo was the centre of attention and loving it, until a balloon got burst. Then he turned into a sulky teenager who wanted to leave the party right that instant! Once we got back to our friends he recovered his composure and was soon begging for England and exposing his belly for much fussing.
Sunday saw us trundle back up the M6. There followed a frantic afternoon and evening of plot writing. At times I thought it was never going to come together, and in all honesty, if it had not been for _peter, I’d still be struggling with it! But at 9pm I finally finished, and was even a little pleased with the result. Just got the small matter of an event to organise and then I should be up to date!
Work is odd. I am back to reading and trying to get my head around another topic. But my boss does seem to be a really good sort. I have also found the woods behind the lake. I enjoy socialising, but I also enjoy my own company – particularly outside in forests or by the sea. So it is complete bliss to lock my computer at midday, pick up my book and sandwich and walk around the back of the lake until I can loose myself in the trees. Lunchtime here does my soul good!

Had a strange moment when I first saw the post - the line that jumped out was Then he turned into a sulky teenager who wanted to leave the party right that instant! Once we got back to our friends he recovered his composure and was soon begging for England and exposing his belly for much fussing. which my mind automatically attributed to your other half and spent a good 30 seconds trying to reconcile the image...
